🌸 2025 Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival: Everything You Need to Know
Spring in Seoul is a magical time, and one of its most iconic seasonal events is the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival (여의도 봄꽃축제). Each year, thousands flock to Yeouido Han River Park to bask in the beauty of Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom-lined streets. This year's festival will be held from April 8 to April 12, 2025.
🌸 Festival Highlights
At the heart of the festival are 1,700 King cherry blossom trees, wrapping around the western edge of Yeouido Island, particularly behind the National Assembly Building. These beautiful blooms form a pastel-pink canopy along Yunjung-ro, which is closed off to traffic for the duration of the event, allowing pedestrians to stroll freely and soak up the springtime atmosphere.
Aside from the stunning blossoms, visitors can enjoy street performances, live portraits, caricatures, and a vibrant street food scene. From Korean favorites like sweet corn, rice cakes, and corndogs to seasonal snacks, the area becomes a festival of flavors and fun.
📅 Important Update for 2025
Originally scheduled to start on April 4, this year’s festival has been postponed to April 8–12, 2025 due to the anticipated ruling in President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment trial. The Yeongdeungpo District Office, which oversees the event, announced the delay to manage expected crowds near the National Assembly on the day of the verdict.
As a result, the festival’s opening ceremony and a planned air show by the Air Force Black Eagles have also been canceled. However, the festival itself is still open and ready to welcome spring lovers—free of charge.
🚇 How to Get There
Address: Yeouiseo-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 영등포구 여의서로)
By Subway:The most convenient way to reach the festival is via Yeouinaru Station. Make sure your T-money card is topped up before you go. All four exits lead toward cherry blossom-lined streets, but for the best walking route around the National Assembly building, head out from Exit 1 or 2.
By Bus:While several buses serve the area, note that many routes may be adjusted or rerouted during the festival due to road closures. Subway is the most reliable transportation option.

🚧 Traffic Info
To accommodate the influx of visitors and ensure safety, traffic on Yunjung-ro will be restricted from noon on Sunday, April 6 until 10 p.m. Sunday, April 13. Visitors are encouraged to use public transport and avoid driving into the area during the festival dates.
Whether you're planning a romantic spring date, a picnic under the petals, or simply want to enjoy one of Seoul’s most photogenic festivals, the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival 2025 is not to be missed. Be sure to bring your camera—and your appetite!
