You can still apply for it if you want but you might be asked to fill in the forms at arrival as well.
Q-code is a system established by the KDCA in order to shorten the time for quarantine inspection and provide the conveniences overseas entrants require upon entry to the Republic of Korea.
Anyone who inputs normal quarantine information through Q-code will be able to avail of fast and convenient quarantine inspection after their arrival at the Republic of Korea.
Every person who plans to enter the Republic of Korea regardless of their purpose, such as tourism, visiting family, etc.
(Both Korean nationals and foreign nationals are included)
!! You cannot complete the Q-Code application unless you have 3 days (72 hours) until your departure date (1 minute over 72 hours won't let you complete de application) !!
Input and Temporary Save are available for the quarantine information entered in the Q-code from the time of purchasing a flight ticket and preparing for travel. The issuance of the QR-Code should be completed before boarding the airplane.
The quarantine information input in Q-code shall be saved by encoding in QR-Code. If any correction is needed for your quarantine information, you may start from the beginning to input information in the system and receiving a new QR-Code. However, the correction of health information will be possible regardless of the issuance of a QR-Code.
- If the correction of quarantine information has not been made until your arrival in the Republic of Korea due to an inevitable situation, you must notify the changed information concerned quarantine officer in Korea. Otherwise, you may be subject to the disadvantage of quarantine action reinforced by the Quarantine Authority of Korea.
The input of the Q-code may not guarantee quarantine and entry to the Republic of Korea. After arrival, the conditions of entry and quarantine shall be finally determined through evaluation by officers of quarantine control and immigration control in the Republic of Korea.
If you input false or inaccurate information related to the Q-code, you may incur a penalty or be subjected to entry restrictions in accordance with the relevant laws and ordinances of the Republic of Korea. The same law applies when you submit a false or inaccurate QR code by proxy.
Please submit the Q-code issued after the complete input of quarantine information to the airline personnel upon boarding and to the quarantine officer at the entry inspection.
The validity of the input Q-code expires upon completion of the corresponding immigration process. Please input new quarantine information at the time of the next entry to the Republic of Korea.

Is it impossible to enter the country without using the Q-code system?
○ Since the Q-code system is a support program designed to provide rapid quarantine services to those entering Korea, immigration is conducted separately by immigration officials.
- However, for those who do not use the Q-code, it may take a lot of time for document inspection upon entry, so please enter the information in the Q-code system before boarding the plane and complete the issuance of the QR code for a quick quarantine investigation.
