D-2 visa is the visa that you need if you want to come and study in Korea. So, this is designed for students who wish to pursue academic courses at universities or graduate schools. Generally, the visa is issued on a 1–2-year basis but can be extended until you finish your courses. There are several types of D-2, however, all of them work the same.
Associate Degree (D-2-1)/ Bachelor's Degree (D-2-2)/ Master's Degree (D-2-3)/ Doctoral Degree (D-2-4)/ Research Study (D-2-5)/ Exchange Student (D-2-6)
Probably as a student in Korea you don’t have a lot of knowledge of how to extend your visa and it is totally understandable. Therefore, below are some ways you can try to do it yourself.
Make an in-person reservation on hikorea.go.kr. And go to the immigration office on the chosen day.
Make an online application on the same website. With no need to go in person and apply.
If your university has a visa application office/person in charge go directly there.
For all of them, you will require the papers below.

We are aware that making your ID card or extending it may be quite complicated so we hope we can make it easier for you by explaining a little bit how to do it. The safest way is just to ask your university to do it for you, however, not all of them have a visa service so you need to be prepared.
