Unusual places to go in Korea

Updated: Jan 14, 2023

Korea is a pretty unique country and it can give you amazing places to visit. While some of them can be normal cultural attractions some can be pretty unusual and amazing. Below we tried to make a list of some of the most unusual and crazy places that you can go to in Korea.

Haesindang Park or Penis Park

On the east coast of Sinnam, three hours from Seoul is a country of massive genital monuments. Haesindang Park, often known as Penis Park, is about forty minutes from Samcheok. Penis-shaped seats, penis-shaped wooden chimes, penis poles, smiling penises, penises protruding from the ground, there's a penis for every situation.

Mr. Toilet House

There's even a section dedicated to the fascinating world of excrement and toilets. Haewoojae Museum, also known as Mr. Toilet House, is a lovely site.

Mr. Toiler House includes grounds littered with various designs of toilets and bronze statues of individuals squatting in a pooping stance, making it one of the oddest sites you'll probably ever visit in the entire world.

Loveland Park in Jeju

Loveland Park, on Jeju Island, is possibly the most eccentric spot on the earth. You haven't yet seen if you believed Haesindang Park was too sexual. Loveland Park has been greeting tourists for a fast steamy crash course in love and over 140 sexual sculptures to see since its opening in 2004. Definitely, a location to take funny photos, or perhaps the thing to spice up your love life!

The Sun Cruise Resort

You'll have a view of the sea on one side, with a never-ending blue horizon, and the sight of a large cruise ship crashing into the side of a tall hill on the other, as you drive down the east coast of South Korea. The first on-land cruise-inspired resort, this architectural marvel was launched in 2002. Even if you don't spend your nights at the Sun Cruise Resort, seeing this beauty will undoubtedly leave an impression.

Sleeping in one of Unique Pension's various themed rooms is a one-of-a-kind experience. The well-known Shin Ramen room is one of the most popular. The room is decorated in Shin Ramen colors of red, black, and yellow, with a nice ramen-shaped bed just ready to be slept on. Other themes, including Heineken, Starbucks, and iPhone, are available at Unique Pension. These unusually themed pensions are a delightful alternative to the standard Airbnb.

Love Museum, Ice Museum, and Trick Eye Museum

If a stroll through Seoul's Love Museum appeals to you, brace yourself for the most provocative museum on the planet. Located in the middle of the city, in Hongdae, these three museums will be the fun of your life. From huge boobies and 'Whack a Dick,' to a banana with its pants down and all the eye-widening promiscuity in between, there's everything your adolescent self could have wished for.

The Trick Eye Museum, which is situated in the same building as the Love Museum, allows visitors to live out their fantasies of being the world-famous work of art they imagine themselves to be on the inside.

The Ice Museum is located in the same building as the two museums mentioned above and is the ice castle of your dreams. Going in the summer to take pictures with ice sculptures will be a delight.

Yongma Land

In the 1980s, Yongma Land was a prosperous, family-run theme park, but it didn't stand a chance in 2011. Rather than allowing the run-down Sailor Moon figurines to succumb to overwhelming entropy, the owners decided to open her up for a nominal cost. Yongma is known for its run-down attractions such as dodgem cars, the octopus ride, and the roller coaster.

Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village

Exit 1 of Incheon Station, go straight through the Chinatown entrance gate, turn left at the end of the road, and walk straight for about 300 meters to reach the Fairy Tale Village. Classic fairy tales from all around the world were used to create a vibrant village. You can take amazing pictures or just travel on the small streets for cute memories.

Seodaemun Prison History Hall

Seodaemun Independence Park is home to the prison hall. It was constructed in 1910, near the end of the Joseon Dynasty, although it was mostly used during the Japanese Occupation when Japanese forces tortured and killed Korean Independence Fighters. To honor the Korean patriots who perished during the time, the prison was converted into a museum.

The old cell block, a small factory, a museum, the execution room, and the prison grounds will all be seen during your tour. If you want to learn more about Korea's history, this is one of the top sites to go to in Seoul.

Wine Train

In Seoul, hop on the wine and film train for an afternoon of wine tasting and snacking.

The train will come to a halt so you may take a wine foot bath and visit a Korean traditional music museum, where you can try out the drums.

The train runs twice a week during peak season in July, departing Seoul Station at 9:00 a.m. and reaching Yeongdong around noon. A wine workshop and complimentary tastings of Yeongdong County wines, as well as live music and dance, are included in the approximately two-and-a-half-hour ride. Movies are shown in separate compartments.

Poop Cafe in Insadong

The Ddong Cafe is a lovely and consumer-friendly coffee business in Insadong that is entirely themed on excrement. Rail Biking in Jeongseon

A former stretch of railway rails has been transformed into a rail bike track just south of PyeongChang in the hilly region of Jeongseon. On a four-and-a-half-mile circuit through the highlands, the pedal-powered devices follow the paths. Quirky cafés have sprouted along the route to refuel thirsty bikers, the most noteworthy of which are designed like fish and grasshoppers.

Busan Gamcheon Culture Village

The southern port city of Busan, also known as Korea's Santorini, is the Gamcheon Culture Village, a vibrant, street art-filled district that has been compared to Machu Picchu due to the steep walk required to access it. This hilltop enclave's artistic residents have painted colorful, scenic murals on the walls and alleys, creating it one of Busan's most photographed spots.
