To obtain a professional visa (excluding the D-10 visa) you need a sponsor represented by usually by the Institution that hired you. That's why the search process has a job becomes more complicated and difficult; many Korean companies are more reluctant to sponsor an employee foreigner. In the case of a D-10 visa, an account statement is needed to prove the financial situation you have.

One solution to avoid the need to be sponsored by the company is the F-2-7 visa, a long-term resident visa duration. This visa is obtained on the basis of a points system provided by the Korean Immigration Bureau and gives the applicant the opportunity to work in Korea without being sponsored by the employer. People who hold a D-2 or D-10 visa and wish to apply for an F-2-7 visa need to have a master's degree from a Korean university and be also eligible for one of the E1 - E7 work visas.
