As a lot of you know, Koreans eat specific food during some events, or even during some seasons or special days of the year. But did you know there are also superstitions about what not to eat before exams?

One of the most popular superstitions that Koreans believe even nowadays is not eating slippery food, such as seaweed soup (miyeokgug) before taking an exam. The reason behind this superstition is that through eating slippery food, your good luck may also slide away and fail the exam.


Instead, you should eat sticky food, such as yeot (Korean sweet sticky and hard candy)
