The museum of the National Memorial of the Korean Provisional Government is a relatively new addition to the Korean museum's list. It opened this year, 2022, on March 1st and coincided with the March 1st Independence Movement's 103rd anniversary, a pivotal event that gave rise to the government-in-exile in Shanghai in 1919. The museum was made open to the public in order to increase public understanding of the background and operations of the government in exile.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said, "The National Memorial of the Korean Provisional Government was built and opened on March 1 to illuminate again as proud history the provisional government's spirit of independence and democratic republicanism and pass it down to future generations."

The Maxim heavy machine gun used by Korean freedom fighters and a song sheet with lyrics in Korean, Chinese, and English are two of the 300 pieces now on show at the museum.

The Korean Independence Army of the provisional government is also described in detail for the first time in a document that is also released.

The museum may discover more objects and restore them for public display, and of course, the number of artifacts on show will increase. Currently, the museum has about 7,000 additional objects in storage.
