How to rent a Wi-Fi pocket device in Korea

Rent a Pocket Wi-Fi Device when you come to visit Korea. If you don't want to use a Korean phone number, but you only need some internet connection wherever you go, this is the best solution for you.

As a constant Wi-Fi connection is a necessity these days, especially when you’re away on a trip you will find this guide perfect.


You’ll need the internet to translate, do research, use ride-sharing apps, and find your favorite K-drama filming locations, also to navigate and look for restaurants.


You can stay connected in Seoul by renting a pocket Wi-Fi device or buying a sim card. It may be easier to rent a pocket Wi-Fi device but sim cards are perfectly fine too and they’re even cheaper.

  • Suwon Area (Near Suwon City Hall Station) (Near Suwon City Hall Station (Bundang Line) - Opening hours: Weekdays *Closed on Korean holidays)


Pick-up, Return & Date Extension


Picking up and returning the device in all branches is NOT available on the weekends & Korean national holidays (except the airport terminal).


Your credit card must have more than 3 months of validity remaining to pick up the Wi-Fi device.

Date extension is NOT available on the weekends & Korean national holidays.


If you wish to extend the date, please request an extension during the weekdays.

*Please show your confirmation email with your passport and credit card (Visa/Master Card ONLY) to pick up the Wi-Fi router.

*Your credit card must have more than 3 months before the expiry date to pick up your Wi-Fi device.

*Your credit card (Visa/Master Card ONLY) will be held open for a security deposit upon pick-up.

*If you do not return the portable Wi-Fi, 100,000 KRW will be charged from your credit card.


Credits cards not accepted: any credit card issued from Hana Card, any American Express credit card, and Samsung Card credit card issued outside of Korea.


*The rental fee is charged on a daily basis, not on an hourly basis. Please make sure you choose the right number of days on the booking page. For example, if you want to use the device from April 1st to April 5th, please choose "5" days.

*You can also rent a portable charger for free (airport pickup only), but 10,000 Won will be charged if you lose it.

*You can return the device at any one of the pick-up locations.

*If you do not return your device on the return date, your device will stop working at 12:00am.

*Refund: 2 days before the reserved date: 100% refund. 1 day before the reserved date and less: Non-refundable.

How to set up a Wi-Fi connection


Once you receive your Wi-Fi Egg, follow the steps below to set up and connect to Wi-Fi with your device!

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi Egg.

  2. Search for a Wi-Fi network on an available smartphone or PC.

  3. Select searched SSID.

  4. Enter the KEY (the network password) accurately.

  5. Now you’re connected!
