The Gwacheon National Science Museum, a complex center of science and technology, is the main attraction in Korea. The grand opening took place on November 14, 2008. With over 2,400 exhibits and broad scope, it is recognized as one of the largest and best-equipped science museums in the world. It was constructed on 243,970-square-foot land with a building size of 49,582 square meters and an exhibition space of 19,127 square meters. A futuristic flying item is depicted on the exterior of the main structure to symbolize humanity's aspiration for the future, the inventiveness of exploration, and the promise of science and technology.
Gwacheon National Science Museum tries to inspire visitors to become interested in science and presents to the public scientific principles that guide daily life as a landmark facility exhibiting Korea's cutting-edge science and technology capabilities. Five permanent display centers are located in the main building: the Natural History Center, Children's Experience Center, High-Tech Center, and Traditional Science Center. The planetarium, observatory, outdoor event space, and insect habitat center are close by. More than half of the exhibit items on view are interactive, allowing visitors to dive in and engage with science directly utilizing their imaginations and their thoughts.
The website has a 3D interactive page, where you can see the museum and check out the facilities before going there. Personally, I thought the place was just amazing. You can interact with most of the exhibitions and they are well done. I wish I could had more time to try them all, and check the outside places in depth, however for a few hours I felt amazing, I learned so much and I had so much fun! Totally recommend it, even if you are not such a huge fan of science. You can take pictures, and videos and even try the games they provide so it is totally worth it.
